Add a Link to Your Timeline

You can add a link to your timeline in two ways.

Paste a URL

There's nothing special you need to do. Insert the URL into the notes for your timeline, layer, or event, and Preceden converts it to a link when the notes are displayed.

To choose the words a link displays, use this format in your notes:

[Link name](http://example.com)

For example, to create a link named Google that points to https://google.com, enter:

[Google](https://google.com)

An event's Notes field holding the Markdown syntax for a link named Google that points to https://google.com, above the Update Event button

This works in timeline, layer, and event notes alike. Links in notes, whether pasted or written this way, open in a new tab.

Preceden does not support adding a file to your timeline directly. To include one, upload it somewhere else (like Box or Dropbox) and link to it using the instructions above. Here are step-by-step instructions for Dropbox: Link to a Dropbox File.

Videos work the same way, since they cannot be embedded either: Add a Video.
